This application note will show how to configure the DrayTek VigorV167 for bridge mode

The bridge mode is enabled by default on the VigorV167 running firmware version 5.1. However, if you would like to set up the bridge mode manually, follow the steps below:

Step 1: Setup a static IP address on your PC.

Open network and internet settings

 

Click on network and sharing center

 

Click on the Vigor167 Ethernet connection

 

Go to Properties and click on IPv4

Setup a static IP address, subnet mask and default gateway as follows:

  • IP address                  : 192.168.1.10
  • Subnet mask             : 255.255.255.0
  • IP default gateway  : 192.168.1.1

Note: The PC IP address must be in the same subnet as the default IP address of the router, e.g. 192.168.1.1.

Click Ok and apply.

 

 

Open a tab on the browser and enter the IP address 192.168.1.1

  • Username : admin
  • Password : admin

Note: Try to clear the cache on the browser if you have received incorrect password message.

In firmware version 5.1, there are two modes available: modem mode and the router mode.

Note: If the Vigor167 has a v5.0 firmware, you will need to upgrade the firmware to v5.0.1 first. Then, upgrade from v5.0.1 to 5.1.

Step 2: Configure the Vigor167 for modem mode

Go to operation mode menu, the modem mode is enabled by default. If would like to set it up manually, click on modem mode, then click next.

Click sync now to synchronize the date and time with the time server. Then, click next.

Click next.

Click next.

Click Apply and reboot.
