If the Vigor router can’t detect or recognise a USB dongle, we’ll often ask for the complete Syslog of the USB WAN to help us troubleshoot the issue.

Please refer to Capturing router syslogs for diagnostic purposes and use the Syslog Utility (available at the bottom of our downloads page) to collect Syslog. The Syslog for the USB modem will be categorised in “WAN”. When the dongle is plugged into the router’s USB port, you should see something similar to the below messages in Syslog:

usb 2-1: new high speed USB device using ifxusb_hcd and address 6#
usb 2-1: New USB device found, idVendor=12d1, idProduct=1f01#
usb 2-1: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=3#
usb 2-1: Product: HUAWEI_MOBILE#
usb 2-1: Manufacturer: HUAWEI_MOBILE#
usb 2-1: SerialNumber: 0123456789ABCDEF#
……………………………

Please save the log and send it to support@draytek.com.au.
