Draytek routers with IP Filtering facilities can have a schedule attached to some of the facilities. As an example, let’s create a rule below to block access by certain IP addresses on our network to any services from Monday to Thursday from 10PM to 6PM which will only allow access between 6PM and 10PM. We’ll also create a second schedule to block access to any services on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11:00 AM to 3:00PM which will only allow access between 3:00PM to 11:00PM.
1.) First make sure the Time is set correctly on the router.
2.) Set the time period you want the filter to apply to in a time rule:
1.) That the “action” field (Force On) has no relevance to this type of application.
2.) That the “Duration time” is not “End Time”
Ex. Schedule 1. Deny Access from Monday to Thursday 10:00PM to 6:00PM
Ex. Schedule 2. Deny Access from Friday to Sunday 11:00 PM to 3PM
3.) Create the “Filter” and apply your schedule to the filtering function. Click on “Default Data Filter”.
4.) Create a separate filter set for weekdays and weekends.
Select the Address type. On this example we select the “Range Address” because we will apply the filter on the range of IP’s 192.168.1.5 to 192.168.1.7.
