The Vigor120 router can be configured for PPPoA/PPPoE pass-through to allow you to connect a broadband router such as the Vigor2910 to an ADSL line. The example below shows how to configure the Vigor120 router for pass-through and the Vigor2910 will authenticate with the ISP.
We will also show the configuration of the Vigor2820 and Vigor2830 when connecting WAN2 to the Vigor120
Step 1: Configure Vigor120
Go to Internet Access>>PPPoE/PPPoA configuration menu.
Enter the DSL modem settings as shown below.
Select Encapsulation Type “VC MUX” and Protocol “PPPoA”
Tick box for “PPPoE Pass-through For Wired LAN”
Checking this box when PPPoA protocol is selected allows PPPoE client on the LAN.
Step 2: Configure Your Attached Router
Configure Vigor2910
Go to WAN>>Internet Access configuration menu
Select PPPoE for Access mode and click on [Details Page] button
Select Enable for “PPoE Client Mode”
Enter your ISP username and password
Check Connection Status
Go to Online Status menu page and check the WAN 1 status. It should look similar to the screen shot below if connection to internet is successful.
Configure Vigor2820
Go to WAN>>Internet Access>>WAN2 configuration menu
Select PPPoE tab. Select enable and enter your ISP username and password.
Check Connection Status
Go to Online Status menu page and check the WAN 2 status. It should look similar to the screen shot below if connection to internet is successful.
Configure Vigor2830
Go to WAN>>Internet Access>>WAN2 configuration menu
Select PPPoE tab. Select enable and enter your ISP username and password.
Check Connection Status
Go to Online Status menu page and check the WAN 2 status. It should look similar to the screen shot below if connection to internet is successful.
