When a Windows PC is used to establish a PPP connection (PPPoE, PPTP, 3G etc), the procedure below can be used to capture windows PPP logs. This may be useful in helping diagnose an issue with a router when it is being used to establish the connection. See also “Setting Up PPPoE Authentication on your PC“.

Run ‘cmd’ in ‘start>run’

type ‘netsh’

type ‘ras’

type ‘set tracing PPP enable’

Then, windows PPP tracing is enabled.

After a PPP connection established, go to windows/tracing/, find PPP.log
